Henri FOREAU 1866 - 1938 French Landscape Painter
he entered the Académie Julian where he was a disciple of Jules Lefèbvre and Tony Robert-Fleury. He notably rubbed shoulders with the Nemour landscape painter Ernest Marché, to whom he gave two paintings currently kept at the Château-Musée de Nemours.
In 1888 he was admitted to the Fine Arts presented by Gustave Boulanger and had as masters Jules Lefebvre, Luc-Olivier Merson and especially Henri Harpignies who will be his witness to marriage on April 7, 1897 at the town hall of the 16th arrondissement and with whom he will be linked a flawless friendship until his death.
